Bathtub rewind

These aren't the most high-tech toys by any means but I remember having hours and hours of fun in the tub and the pool with these exact creatures. At $4 each these would make great favors or name-card holder for a kid's party. Any your party will be remembered every bath time!

A new tradition

OK - when I saw this I thought "great for kids" you can create a new tradition and it will give Mom and Dad the opportunity to give a bunch of small gifts and make the day a little more fun. But after looking at some of this company's stuffer suggestions I realized this is for grown-ups as well! Imagine hanging this on a co-workers desk or even on a friends doorknob.

How fun, and what grown-up wouldn't want to get a bright colored sock of fun gifts catered to their personality? Then next year hang it up on the mantel and see what fun surprised you get on your Birthday morning!

Martha, Martha, Martha!

Learn New Cooking Techniques for Free

My Mother is the most fabulous cook. She knows everything there is to know about the ingredients and tools that are used to create culinary masterpieces. No matter how basic the dish, she uses spices, and herbs to enhance the food's flavor. Over the years I have dined many places and in my opinion other cooks fall flat in their attention to details of the delicacy of flavor combinations; their hollandaise lacks the delicate texture of my Mom's or their ratatouille is just vegetable stew where my Mom's is a cravable dish that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. So growing up with such a gifted Mother has been a gift and a curse - I developed a very refined palette thanks to her and because of this I really enjoy the dining experience. Also because of her I am disappointed a lot of the time in restaurants versions of dishes I first she made me as a kid.
I never inherited her talent, and although I am adventurous when dining I am very intimidated in the kitchen. I suppose I am can cook the average meals but I would never invite friends over and submit them to eating just average. So my husband and I usually visit other people’s homes during the holidays.
For those of us who aren't as talented as my Mother, William Sonoma has technique classes that focus just on holiday cooking. AND THEY ARE FREE!

Both the technique classes and the demonstrations are offered free of charge.

Welcome!

I have created this blog to share ideas, inspiration and great tidbits that I come across. My business caters to two distinct areas - wedding/event graphics and invitations; and business graphics and desktop publishing. Since what I do is focus on the minutia of each project I find some amazing ideas and products, so why not share them with you?

My job is what most people do for fun. I help plan the details of events from Birthday parties and showers to weddings. My research includes surfing the net for the perfect favors and creative gifts to sampling new restaurant's to find the perfect ambiance.
